Alberta Adventures

We made the move to Alberta in August 2012, and immediately started exploring, below I will list all the places we have found as I blog about them. Should be great for a new set of outdoor family adventures.

Big Lake, St. Albert

So far I have not found much in the way of trails here, but it is a beautiful spot, and I plan to return with the canoe for a paddle.

Rock Lake Provincial Park

Camping Summer

A beautiful lake on the East side of the Rockies, it was a beautiful spot to camp, hike and explore.

Elk Island National Park

A great place to visit for a walk, beautiful lakes, birds, paddling and of course wildlife viewing.  The Bison herds are a unique sight and worth the trip.

Jasper National Park

Summer Drive

An amazing place anytime of year, Jasper is a beautiful park in the Canadian Rockies.

Maligne Lake Jasper

Summer Walk

An amazing lake between beautiful mountain peaks, Maligne Lake is defiantly a must visit place when exploring Jasper.

St. Albert splash park

A great playground and splash park fenced in with change rooms and shaded seating for parents.  A great place to bring the kids on a hot day.

View from the creek.

Watson Creek Provincial Recreation Area

A great campsite.  Inexpensive, firewood is included, pump for water, clean outhouses, well maintained and perfect to explore from.  It was our first camping trip in Alberta, and we will head back into this area again, it is beautiful.
